  • Holiday Activity & Food (HAF) Programme

    There are still places available for families to book their children onto the Holiday Activity & Food (HAF) Winter programme organized by the Local Authority. Their holiday programme is open to school-aged children from reception to year 11 (inclusive) who receive benefits-related free school meals

    Through their programme of free healthy food and fun activities, children and young people can develop new skills, take part in creative and physical activities, learn about food and cooking, and enjoy a nutritious meal each day. 

    Activities this winter include: 

    • Learn to ride a bike or develop your cycling skills 
    • Football, Cricket, Basketball and multi-sports 
    • Parent and child cookery sessions 
    • Dance, drama and arts programmes 
    • Multi-activity camps 
    • SEND activity camp

  • Bikeability - Year 6

    For Bikeability, a group of Year 6 children had a real sense of excited achievement as they completed their Bikeability course – a bike-training scheme provided by the London Borough of Hillingdon. Despite the challenging weather conditions, they began their training by learning some basic road safety skills before riding on the roads under strict supervision, around Hayes. At the end of the week, the instructors commented on the excellent behaviour of all the children who attended the course and the progress they all made. Congratulations to all the children who took part!

  • Science Practical

    Year 4 pupils had the opportunity to use a range of electrical components to build simple electric circuits in our practical session. They used - battery, wire attached with crocodile clips, light bulb, buzzer, motor and switch. Accepting the challenge, they also built series circuits to demonstrate their deeper understanding of the topic. Children used different materials to test whether they are conductors or insulators of electricity. They successfully built small fans using batteries, wires, motors and paper as the blades of their fans.

  • 3D Solar System Model

    Year 5 children excitedly engaged in their Design and Technology session by creating a 3D model of the solar system. The solar system is the Science theme for Autumn 1. The 3D models made by the children used to reinforce the children for the conceptual understanding of the solar system and give them an opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the concept while using their creative artistic skills.
