  • Year 5 Pedestrian Training

    Published 05/07/24

On Wednesday 12th June the Year 4 pupils took part in Pedestrian Training delivered by the STARs team. The children were spilt into small groups and learnt about the different hazards on the roads as well as how to keep themselves safe when walking on the pavements and crossing roads, particularly busy ones. Once they had received their initial training, the children ventured out onto the local roads around the primary school to put into practice all they had learnt. It was an invaluable experience for the children as they witnessed some of the hazards first-hand and felt confident in knowing what they needed to do to keep safe. We hope that by taking part in the Pedestrian Training, this will encourage more children to travel to school sustainably (walking, biking, scooting etc.) as they will feel more confident about travelling along our roads.

On Friday 14th June we held our Summer Fair and what a fair it was! The children got stuck in with the arts and crafts stalls, some children had glitter tattoos and face paint.

They enjoyed themselves on the bouncy castle and other outdoor games making sure they later rehydrated themselves with plenty of juice and ice lollies! We were also pleased to see how popular our candy floss stall was! We would like to thank all the pupils, staff and parents, guardians and carers who helped to run the fair and dedicated their time to ensuring everyone had a wonderful time. Thank you to everyone that came support the fair, as without the support of the local community, it wouldn’t have been the roaring success that it was!
