Gordon Brown Centre Residential Trip
On Monday 10th to Friday 14th July, some of the Year 6 children visited the Gordon Brown Centre for their residential trip and they were fortunate enough to have perfect summertime weather! The children took part in various outdoor activities including the GBC Megabowl, Roman Gladiator Training Camp and the Trim Trail.
In the evenings, the children had a DVD, Sports and Quiz night. All the children had a fantastic time and enjoyed every minute of the trip. The children were also given responsibilities such as cleaning up after meal times and feeding the goats which helped to give them a sense of independence, responsibility and team work. When the children got back from the residential, some of them did not want to come home as they were reliving the past week with their friends. All the children gained new found confidence and independence and now feel even more ready for starting secondary school in September.
