Since Monday 8th June, some of the children have been working on a project called Geometrocity. This is a project-based learning activity where pupils apply their geometry skills when designing their own city. Pupils utilised many types of geometric concepts to create buildings and structures. This project engaged our children and expanded their understanding on a number of subjects, developing their Mathematical skills, mapping skills, writing, problem solving and comprehension skills.
Children have created a fantastic city that uses two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes, practising both plane and solid geometry and using their amazing imagination. This project enabled the children to practice and apply learned skills in geometry while problem solving and making decisions based on their own knowledge, creativity, and imagination!
