Children Embrace Landscape Art using Paint 15/06/20
Master Xia Jing Shan has been a prominent figure in the field of religious arts in China and had a key aim to promote the beauty of philanthropy left in Chinese arts and culture. He specialised in the genre of Chinese landscapes with his work primarily focusing on figures, yet extending to flower and bird paintings. On Friday 5th June, the children embraced his traditions and adopted this culture of landscape art by recreating their own landscape scenes, using characteristics of Chinese brush painting. They enthusiastically entered into an aesthetic realm and reflected Xia Jing Shan's elegant and otherworldly artistic style through delicate brush strokes and wonderful ink expressions. The children thoroughly enjoyed painting outdoors and remained engaged throughout the lesson as they absorbed the nutrients from the roots of traditional Buddhist Art.
